Our teacher showed us a clip of a movie that we forever touch our broken hearts, and remind us of the most memorable time in history that shaped not only, the world but one individual at a time. The clip was from a well-known movie that was released the year of 2014, Unbroken. The movie was not only based on the horrible time in the history of the war but focused on a young man named Louis Zamperini and his story. No matter how much they tortured him in Japan as a prisoner or the waves of the Pacific ocean. They would torture him, of starvation, hygiene, labor, and etc.. He still wouldn't stand with them if they told him to feed the public ears with lies. The thing he is well known for other than being an Olympian, survining in the World War II he forgave them. He had flown to Japan to forgive the general that would torture him day and night. And he lived by this quote of how holding a grudge and not being able to forgive the one that hurt you will not do any good to neither of you. Do the right thing, forgive those who have hurt you no matter if you aren't able to. Becuase deep down you will feel good.

- Telling the truth lets everyone know what really happened. There's less chance of misunderstanding, confusion, or conflict.

In my own words, or interpretation of this statement, I believe that with reason or without we should tell the truth. No matter how it comes out or when the truth should always be told, preferably when it happens and the person that lived the truth. For instance, if I'm at the mall and I'm buying some shoes that have been wanting for the longest time, the person who charged us gave us an extra dollar, which was a simple mistake. Which could happen to anybody, and a dollar isn't worth nothing compared to like a ten dollar bill or even a twenty dollar bill. I could have lied and walked out of the store with the dollar and if they were to do this multiple times miscount the change. Then at the end of the day, it would come out of his salary to pay back the money they "gave away" Or they can tell the truth and they can save their money and help them with counting. In a way I agree with the given quote above on how we should stand up for what we know and others know is right, even if they still ignore it. For instance, a video was shown to us today in class about a lovely six-feet tall girl, named Brooke. She has never chosen the wrong, no drugs, nor alcohol, and helps teach her friends and others to choose the right. She always stands up for herself and she never seems to be in trouble for doing what's wrong. In this example, it shows us how we should follow the concept and the path that many like Brooke follow and set an example to continue doing. A bad example, is when someone chooses the wrong and they do drugs, follow others on what they aren't suppose to be doing. Kids, teens, and adults you should live and breath by the quote shown to us above and set examples and teach live lessons to others when and why they should also ctr.

In other words, what this quote is trying to say is that when you do anything in life don't find the easy way and feel guilty afterward or resentment. You should feel and be able to carry your self very proudly and know that you did, you finally accomplish your goal. Not neccessarily all by your self but, through your critical thinking skills, collaboration, and diligence. For instance, you are working on writing a beautiful story, and you have no idea what the big plot twist will be, and you've been working on this story for a year now. The last thing you need to finish your masterpiece to share with the world full of readers is the plot twist. You go on a quest to find your plot twist and what do you do you cheat and you still your fellow writer's plot twist as your own and you finish, you're now no more masterpiece. The editors love it and they publish it, and all your thinking and feeling right now is guilt and how you should do what is right, but it's your career on the line. Cheating your way into the big books, you show and have displayed no honor and no integrity. To conclude, the example, shown and explained above is what you shouldn't do and do things with honor.

In my personal opinion I agree with Dan Dierdorf on his idea of having the correct goals and if you pursue them then you're going to lead to success. For instance, if I were wanting to build a good and stable relationship with anyone I would have to have the correct mindset to have short-term goals that lead to long ones. you first have to find the short-term goals before you lead to pursuing them to become your success. In other words, if they want to hang out and you say yes and your goal it to follow through with it and you do. Your success is that they will want to hang out with you more, and your not a person who flakes and lies. But, yes the idea of the quote is somewhat true but needs to be modified to the person's life and situation. At the end of the day your actions speak louder than words. So why not understand the situation before acting on it. And learn to appreciate the little time you have left to set goals and pursue them.
