Physical Therapist

Duties and Responsibilities:

The following duties of an physical therapist include, review patients medical history and any referrals or notes form doctors, surgeons, or other healthcare workers. They also educate patients and their families about what to expect form the recovery process and how best to cope with challenges throughout the process. Evaluate and record a patients progress, modifying a plan of care and trying new treatments as needed.

Salary:

They get paid $85,400 per year and $41.06 per hour.

Education:

In order to become one you  will need a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree.  They will also need a bachelors degree for admission as well as specific educational classes.All states require them to be licensed.

Demand or need for this profession:

Some recommended skills are reading comprehension, communication, Transferable, workplace, and technology skills. These skills will come in handy when you want to become one.

After conducting research on this profession I still believe that I wouldn't want to be one. This profession is very useful and amazing but I just don't think I would want to be helping other with their physical boundaries.

Patient Representative

Duties and Responsibilities: 
A patient responsibilities include non-clinical ways to obtain medical and other healthcare services, understand polices, and make choices. Talk to patients and their families in order to answer questions, discuss problems and outline solutions to healthcare concerns.

Salary:
Annual: $25,520-$41,430
Hourly: $12-$20

Education:
The profession will have a minimum requirement of at least a high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED).They will have on the job training , but prefer if an individual has some relevant postsecondary training, including office skills.
Demand for this particular career:
The skills that are demanded for this particular career are active listening, critical thinking, reading comprehension, coordination, writing, service orientation, social perceptiveness, speaking, persuasion, and active learning.

After conducting research and learning more about this profession I still believe that I wouldn't like to be one as a career . My dream is to study human behavior and learn about it . I just don't think that this career interests me on any level that I would like to peruse in.

Oseopathic Physician

Duties and responsibilities:
 Some of the following duties may vary depending on where or not they work in a group solo, examine patients and take medical histories, order perform and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe and administer treatment for patients suffering from injury or disease, counsel patients about their health, providing advice about staying in good health, and alleviating symptoms of chronic conditions, improving eating habits, and learning to break bad habits like smoking.

Salary: $204k-443k

Education:
There is minimal education required for this profession, you will need three years of college, keep their GPA up because a very competitive , participate in extracurricular activities to build leadership, teamwork and communication skills. Take advantage of the time off to gain clinical experience, and volunteer health organization.
Demand or need for this profession:
 For this profession you will need to be well- rounded, have a good communication and interpersonal skills, have a record of community service, have a record of leadership, come from diverse backgrounds, are motivated to pursue a career in osteopathic.

After researching and learning more about this profession I still don't think I want to be one as a profession. My dream career or profession as one might say, is to study human behavior and observe it. This profession isn't something that I would like to do because it doesn't seem right for me.

Orthodontist

Duties and Responsibilities: 
The duties and responsibilities of an orthodontist involves straightening teeth and correcting bites. They are responsible for locating the positioning of patients teeth and with their oral development, and use the dental equipment to fix the problem. They will be responsible for planning custom treatment plans that are tailored to treat each individual patient based on his or her dental records.
Salary:  $188,000
Education:
To become an orthodontist you would need to graduate form dental school with a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DDM). You will need to earn a bachelors degree, and it wont matter what major you choose in the categories given. Also need an Dental Acceptance Test (DAT) during your junior year.  
Demand for this particular career:
An orthodontist need the following key skills , written and verbal communication, detail oriented, dexterity, organized, patient, and physical stamina.

After researching and learning what an orthodontist is and their duties, I still think I don't want to be one. The reason why is because I think teeth are disgusting and its not y dream career. My dream career is to become an therapist and be a psych major. And I just don't think that this career is right for me and I would never find interest in it to pursue. Also I don't like the dentist or the sounds that the machines and the tools make it gives me anxiety so I don't think that would be best of me.

Duties and Responsibilities: 
An oral and maxillofacial surgeon duties include the following; perform surgery related to hard and soft tissues of the oral and maxillofacial  regions to treat diseases., injuries, or defects. Some of their job tasks are,  remove tumors and other abnormal froths of the oral and facial lacerations, inta-oral lacerations, and fractured facial bones.
Salary:  $232,870
Education:
The education requirements include the four years in college a bachelors degree. You will also need to take the Dental Admissions Test , and four years of dental school. And depending on the person they can get a Ph. D.

Demand for this particular career:
The skills required are for them to have strong leadership skills, be detail oriented, have steady hands and good hand-eye coordination, have physical and mental stamina, and be able to handle stress in difficult situations.

After conducting research I don't think I would like to be one because it doesn't include many of my interests. My dream career or career that I have in mind for me is to be a phycologist and study human behavior.  I just don't think this career seems interesting for me.

Optometry Technician

Duties and Responsibilities: 
Optometry technician carry out eye examinations and treatments. Some work responsibilities include testing patients visual acuity, depth perception, pressure inside of the eye, color vision and pupil reflexes. Lastly, prepare eye exam schedules, ready exam rooms, assist in making or repairing eyeglasses, clean ocular equipment and other duties.
Salary:$30,590
Education:
The education requirements for an optometric technician are a high school diploma, training programs and associate degrees which will make you more competitive.
Demand for this particular career:
The demand or need for this particular career are patient rapport, work precision, teamwork, and  office application skills. an interesting fact to keep in mind is that the job growth from (2014-2024) has grown 23% for medical assistants.

After conducting research I don't think I would like to be one the reason why is because it doesn't interest me or fall under the category of my major. This profession seems like its boring and not something I would want peruse in the near future. I want to study human behavior and learn how to improve it. And this career doesn't focus on it, its on the eyes and I don't like working with the eyes.
